Publix is coming to an area close to Ballantyne and South Charlotte!!

North Carolina,Charlotte, homes for saleIf any of you have ever been in a Publix grocery store, you will remember the experience. I remember when Publix first came to Atlanta in the 90s and all of the wonderful prepared foods in the deli Huge platters of roasted chicken almandine, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, salads and veggies which looked as if you had cooked them the night before in your kitchen and had just pulled them out of the fridge to reheat. Your mouth would begin watering as you perused the offerings. Look, Aunt June, we could buy this, put it in the casserole dish at home and Uncle Buck would never know we didnt make it! Oh yeah, you can be sure the ladies of the Marietta Home and Garden Club were all over that! There was nothing like it in Atlanta at that time

OK, now that my little trip down Memory Lane is overthe point of my writing is that Publix will soon be a short trip from the Ballantyne area right down Hwy 521 where we all know you go to buy cheaper gas and liquor anyway. Yes, right over the South Carolina line in the Cross Creek Shopping Center. Plus there will be another Publix opening in Fort Mill which will be located at Pleasant and Gold Hill roads. Both stores are supposed to open by year-end.

So, get ready for some good opening day deals but also some great deals from the competition. I bet Harris Teeter will be offering quadruple coupons! Heh-heh! With Whole Foods opening this summer in SouthPark, Trader Joes firmly entrenched in Charlotte with 3 locations and Publix opening on the horizon, our choices for fresh produce and gourmet food-offerings will be endless. And lets not forget the wonderful Farmers markets like the Atherton Mill Farmers Market and Matthews Community Farmers Market. Yes, Charlotte is a world-class city in so many ways, including plenty of fresh food choices, whether prepared, farm to fork or organic, the offerings are plentiful. Yes, Aunt June would be very happy shopping here in good ole Charlotte, North Carolina! Publix, we cant wait to see you come on over to our neck of the woods!
